The gameplay is a direct continuation of the previous game Enter the Gungeon. Gunmen, familiar from the first part, again set off on a journey through the dungeons, where they will meet dangerous enemies and complex traps. By controlling the characters, the player must overcome all barriers, destroy opponents and get out of the Weapons. The passage is complicated by increased dynamism and the rapid movement of all the characters.
Moving from level to level, the player will meet a variety of aliens who wield numerous types of weapons. In some locations, the abilities of monsters may change, so the user must carefully monitor the actions of the enemy. To resist the attack, the hero can use any of the items scattered around the location, as well as dodge, jump and bend down, avoiding shots or strikes.
A great variety in the game makes the variability of the passage. With each subsequent repetition of the mission, the player will find himself in new conditions, where he will have to deal with updated bosses and explore the changed location. Also, in Exit the Gungeon, the sequences of barriers and traps are not repeated, further complicating the passage. The hero needs to use all the dexterity, combat effectiveness and cunning to get out of the Weapons alive.
Addictive gameplay is greatly enhanced by bright and colorful graphics. All game objects are clearly visible, and exciting special effects allow you to make battles on a larger scale. However, the whole game is made in a pixel style, which brings it closer to the usual platformers, familiar from the days of game consoles. Exit the Gungeon will appeal not only to fans of the first part, but also to new players who want to immerse themselves in the original adventure.
