Plot Features
The plot of the second part leads the player to the already known guard’s room. Animatronics entertaining children during the day turn into bloodthirsty killers at night. The hero will have to consistently survive several nights in the same establishment with mechanical dolls. Sometimes he will receive calls from someone unknown, providing useful information and telling stories.
The phone guy notifies that the animatronics have been given facial recognition, which makes them even more dangerous. The caller also provides the player with information about the world outside of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza for the first time. The user learns that earlier the animatronics were in another institution that was closed. The action of the second part takes place before the events of the first game.
FNAF 2 uses a familiar level scheme. The player will have to go through five consecutive nights, the successful completion of which will open access to bonus nights. On the seventh night, the user will again be able to independently set up the artificial intelligence of the animatronics. The gameplay was diversified by mini-games that can drop out after the death of the hero. Mini-games significantly complement the plot and saturate the horror with game events.
Differences between FNAF 2 and FNAF 1
Leaving the famous setting from FNAF 1, the developers have completely redesigned the gameplay. After learning that the animatronics have the ability to recognize faces, the hero tries to trick them by wearing a Freddy mask. The mask is one of the main weapons in the second part, which can come in handy if the animatronics made their way into the office. The mask cannot fool the Mangle doll, Puppets and Foxy.
In the second part, it became much easier for robots to get into the guard’s room, because. Doors have been removed from gameplay. Instead, ventilation shafts and a flashlight were added – the only item that spends electricity. With a flashlight, the player must highlight the corridors, tracking the paths of the animatronics. All other elements remain the same: the image from the cameras is also displayed on the guard’s monitor.
A significant innovation in FNAF 2 was the updated composition of the animatronics. A Puppet has been added to the game, which attacks if its box runs out of charge. A second fox animatronic, Mangle, and a human animatronic, Balloon Boy, also appeared. Familiar from the first part of the Freddy doll, Bonnie, Chiki and Foxy received a new look associated with their game backstory. As in the first game, the animatronics become more dangerous with each level.
